The Heart Behind Catholic Graphic Design

I’m a Catholic graphic designer. What does that mean and why does it matter?
To put it simply, it means my work ethic and my designs are fueled by faith. It’s a crucial part of my business design to connect and get to know you as a person. This is a journey and an investment in your calling and the community you serve, not just a business transaction. I want to design something that speaks to who you were created to be and the calling you’re chasing!
Symbolism at the heart.
Now, that doesn’t mean every client will walk away with a logo that screams “I’m Catholic!!” In fact most of my works aren’t that way at all. While my designs are often influenced by my own faith, I understand that not everyone has a religious affiliation or wants that to be the focal point of their branding and that's okay!
But it does mean that I understand the importance of symbolism, and that I am totally down for incorporating elements of your faith - subtle or not so subtle - into the final work. I strive to create designs that have elements of faith, if desired, in a way that is meaningful and reflects your mission. A more subtle approach can allow the design to speak to those who share the same faith, without alienating those who may not. Meanwhile a not so subtle option can help you find your people. It's all about creating a design that is authentic and resonates with YOU and your audience, regardless of religious background.
Priorities in order.
Being Catholic also means I understand the importance of priorities. Whether your business is a side passion or a primary source of income, I know that family comes first. I know what it means to sacrifice and to balance work and family life, because I do it too. This understanding influences how I approach my work. I make sure to have flexible meetings and contact hours, and your littlest business partners are welcome anytime. The goal is always a brand that supports your higher calling.
So why does it matter?
It matters because my gift for design is a gift God has given me for His glory and all of my work is done with that in mind. Whether I’m working with a Catholic client or not. I take pride in my work and all of it is an offering to God - for you, your business, your clients, and my own journey along this road.
